Dr. Murphy is the Lead Faculty for Clinical Education at ProSomnus Sleep Technologies, Principal of Funktional Consulting, serves on the Guest Faculty at the University of Detroit Mercy and Michigan Schools of Dentistry and as a Regular Presenter on Business Development, Practice Management and Leadership at the Pankey Institute. He has served on the Boards of Directors of the Pankey Institute, National Association of Dental Laboratories, the Identalloy Council, the Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technology, St. Vincent DePaul’s Dental Center and the Dental Advisor. He lectures internationally on Leadership, Practice Management, Communication, Case Acceptance, Planning, Occlusion, Sleep and TMD. He has a knack for presenting pertinent information in an entertaining manner.

Jamison Spencer

Dr. Jamison Spencer is the Director of the Center for Sleep Apnea and TMJ in Boise, Idaho, and the Director of Dental Sleep Medicine for Lane and Associates Family Dentistry, a group practice with 30 locations, in North Carolina. He is a Past President of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain (AACP), a Diplomate of the American Board of Craniofacial Pain, a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and has a Masters in Craniofacial Pain from Tufts University. Dr. Spencer is a founding faculty member of both the AACP’s Craniofacial Pain Mini-Residency and the AACP/Tufts Dental Sleep Medicine Mini-Residency program. He is also the inventor of the Silent Sleep oral appliance, FDA cleared for the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. Dr. Spencer has lectured across the United States, in Latin America, Australia, Europe, Eastern Europe and India.

Lesia possesses over twenty years of dental experience as an assistant, office manager, and consultant. In 2018, she co-founded GoTo Sleep Center for CPAP Alternatives in Phoenix, AZ with Dr. Stacey Layman. The practice is dedicated entirely to Dental Sleep Medicine and recently opened a second location in Scottsdale, AZ where they collaborate with multiple medical referral sources and provide best in class care to several dozen patients each month.

Ryan fully committed to the field of sleep medicine when he learned his father’s cardiovascular condition could have been avoided with a sleep test. Ryan demonstrates his passion to help people through providing engaging experiences that get his audiences to take action. He has lectured extensively, including presentations at the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine Annual Meeting, i-CAT Congress, Henry Schein, VaTech, Benco, Burkhart and Invisalign continuing education events.

Steve Carstensen DDS has been Editor-in-Chief of Dental Sleep Practice Magazine since 2014. In 1998, he started treating sleep apnea and snoring and has trained at UCLA’s Mini-Residency in Sleep and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. He lectures internationally, directs sleep education at the Pankey and Spear Education and is a guest lecturer at University of the Pacific and Louisiana State Dental Schools. For the AADSM he was a Board Member, Secretary-Treasurer and President-Elect. From 2007 – 2010 Steve served the ADA on the Council for Annual Sessions and was Chair of the 2010 ADA meeting. Together with a partner he founded Premier Sleep, a practice in Bellevue, WA entirely devoted to helping people breathe better and sleep better.

Jill Ombrello, DDS holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from Saint Louis University and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2008 from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Since 2014, Dr. Ombrello has been a lecturer for Healthy Start, training dental practices around the country about early intervention to improve pediatric airway health. She also practices in Dallas, TX at Central Dentist where she provides comprehensive dentistry with an emphasis on sleep disordered breathing. She enjoys traveling with her husband and three beautiful children, as well as gardening, Beyonce, and taking care of the chickens she keeps in her backyard.

John Remmers

As the CMO and co-founder of Zephyr Sleep Technologies, Dr. John Remmers leads the research, design and development of innovative sleep products used in the diagnoses and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. He is a recognized physiologist, pioneer and innovator in sleep medicine. As a world-renowned expert in the field of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, Dr. Remmers has published over one hundred peer reviewed articles in the area of respiratory physiology. Dr. Remmers served two terms as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Applied Physiology and has presented honorary research lectures to the American Thoracic Society, the American Physiological Society and American College of Chest Physicians. His research interests relate to the neurobiology of respiratory rhythmogenesis, chemoreception, and the pathophysiology of the control of breathing, being the first researcher to elucidate the pathogenesis of sleep apnea and to demonstrate that sleep apnea is caused by an anatomical narrowing of the pharynx. He has developed various technologies and medical devices to treat sleep apnea, ranging from portable diagnostic sleep monitors to auto-adjusting CPAP devices, and remotely controlled/auto-controlled mandibular positioners (i.e. MATRx and MATRx plus) used in the prescription and characterization of oral appliance therapy. Over the past decade, Dr. Remmers has dedicated his research to patient selection for oral appliance therapy and sleep theragnostics. Gilles Lavigne, DMD (U de Montreal, Canada), PhD (U of Toronto, Canada), and FRCD (Oral medicine, Georgetown U, USA), completed his postdoctoral training on the neurobiology of pain at NIH, Bethesda, USA. He received a Doctor honoris causa from the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Zenntrum für Zahnmedizin, University of Zurich, Switzerland. He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and Canadian Academy of Healthy Sciences. In 2018 he was appointed the title of member of the Order of Canada. He holds a Canada Research Chair in Pain, Sleep & Trauma and has been Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the Université de Montréal, Canada (2008-2016). He was President of the Canadian Sleep Society and President of the Canadian Pain Society. He is co-founder and past Director of the three research networks for Oral Health, Pain and Placebo Mechanisms under the Fonds de la Recherche en Santé du Quebec and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). He was the interim director of medical research in the CIUSSS Nord Ile de Montreal (2017-2019). Gilles Lavigne is internationally recognized for his experimental and clinical research projects on sleep bruxism and the interactions between sleep, pain, and breathing disorders. He is also active in clinical teaching and services in these areas.

After playing college soccer and graduating summa cum laude from Houghton College in Houghton, NY, Dr. Elliott graduated top 5 from Creighton University Dental School in Omaha, NE in 2003. She moved to North Idaho as soon as she could. Dr. Elliott loves helping her patients not only smile but sleep better too! She is an international speaker and educator on the topic of sleep disordered breathing and has been featured in innumerable dental journals and podcasts. She loves to help general dentists extend this life-saving service to their patients. Dr. Elliott also known as “E3” is an active member of her local chapter of the American Dental Association as well as national organizations including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and she is a past president of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy.

Dr. Dania Tamimi graduated with a dental degree from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1999. She trained at Harvard University, School of Dental Medicine and earned a doctorate of medical science (DMSc) and certificate of fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 2005. She is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (ABOMR). She is a reviewer and an Editorial Board member for Oral Surgery, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine and Oral Radiology (OOOO). Gina Pepitone-Mattiello is a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) practicing with Long Island Dental Sleep Medicine, the first AADSM accredited dental sleep facility in New York State. Gina interactively engages patients, identifying risk factors, signs and symptoms of Airway Disorders and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. A pioneer in the dental sleep medicine field, Gina has developed an online on-demand certification course, "Certificate in Dental Sleep Medicine for the Registered Dental Hygienist", that is accredited by the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines. In addition to treating patients and educating other hygienists, Gina has published several articles and has lectured internationally on behalf of various educational institutions.  Gina, the wife of a New York City firefighter and sleep apnea sufferer, supports the World Trade Center Health Program by educating and treating our first responders who suffer with Airway Disorders. Gina also hosts the “Get A Gasp” Podcast on The Dental Podcast Network, Channel 2 every Wednesday.  Her motto is… “People Don't Care How Much You Know Until They Know How Much You Care."
